The Lewis County School System is comprised of four schools, one K-2 elementary, one intermediate school for grades 3-5, one middle school for grades 6-8, and a high school for grades 9-12. All schools are accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools with the exception of the middle school, which will begin the accreditation process in the fall. The total student population is approximately 2,000.
Lewis County Schools have met or exceeded No Child Left Behind academic expectations, as well as, graduation and attendance requirements. Lewis County is also proud to have 98% of teachers highly qualified, certified and licensed in their teaching area.
